OUTPOST, VENICE BIENNALE 2013 Outpost by Samar Singh Lodha explored the homes and lives of mineworkers in the North East of India. A body of 18 works was housed in an obsolete arsenal that was completely blackened (the skylights and floor were covered in thick black cloth). The space, sound and lighting were meant to mirror the stillness and desperation of the mines and the mineworkers' tin-shed homes.
